-About The Book
Sargonian No. 555
My name is Tahbral Bhetani, and I am a Sargonian. I’m the Director of Public Relations and Chief Historian for our Space Bureau.
We Sargonians live in the Althari Galaxy, known by you as Andromeda. We know your Milky Way as the Valusian Galaxy. There are 2.5 million light-years of space separating our galaxies, which equals 23.5 quintillion kilometers (km). Our home planet, Shakalin Ur, is in a planetary system we call, in our Akkadian, Sargon Istan, or Sargon One in English.
The story that follows tells of Earth’s impending disasters. It also tells of my Sargonian civilization’s past and how we overcame and avoided some of the same catastrophes you face.
Astronomical calculations show that our star’s continuing expansion is causing a slow, unstoppable increase in solar wind and radiation. Like our planetary system, yours also faces a future apocalypse.

Book Reader Reviews
Sargonian No. 555 is truly an educational and enjoyable experience.
I did not know that saffron threads came from Crocus flowers. The knowledge about Thermostatic polymers and the many acronyms used helped understand how the Sargonian strengthened their ship hulls. I was amazed by the distance between Andromeda and our Milky Way.
I truly appreciated the well-done glossary, the characters, and their relationships to the story.
The discovery of the ancient tablets in today’s Iraq brings this story together. The description of the characters is extremely pleasing, with their intellectual qualities and physical attributes that you can truly imagine and appreciate.
Reading Sargonian No. 555 feels real and refreshing; you can truly picture all their trials and triumphs. Most of all, the Sargonian No. 555 story gives us “HOPE” for our future generations, and all other galaxies, including Earths. Fictional or not?
The way our beautiful Earth is going, we all need “HOPE” in our lives. Sargonian No. 555 reminds us to do our best to appreciate what we have and to preserve it.
Applause to Mark Palmer for creating a harmonious novel.

“I loved the plot of this book. I had never read a science fiction novel with an indigenous slant. The story brought to life the traditions, resilience, and wisdom of the peoples of ancient Mesopotamia. I liked how beings from a different world and galaxy came to Earth and how the lone survivor assimilated into an ancient Sumerian village.
In a way, the ancient Akkadian astronaut’s long-ago landing helped form a future bond between his successors and modern Earthlings, giving both civilizations a better chance of having a future. The book’s seamless flow carried the story winding through time and space. Each chapter pulled me forward, and the technical details fed my engineering side.
I stayed interested throughout the book. The characters were compelling with relatable motivations, keeping my interest. The subplots included high-stakes twists and well-timed revelations that helped maintain suspense and surprise. The vivid world-building set a base, while a balance of intrigue, action, humor, and moments of emotion kept me invested in the characters and their stories. Above all, a straightforward and engaging narrative by Tahbral, the Akkadian historian, tied these elements together, making the story easy to follow. It was a good read, and I hope there is a sequel.”
Good luck,
